Our more feminine style of Pinot Noir, produced to be aromatic and pretty with soft, elegant red-fruit flavours. We aim for this wine to be multilayered and approachable young, with an emphasis on the primary fruit. Underneath, this wine is serious at heart and will evolve with age into a dark, broody Pinot Noir.

Ruby red colour.
On the nose is redcurrants, strawberries & red cherries. Cinnamon & summer pudding. A herbaceous undertone.
On the palate it’s all red fruits up front. Bright & elegant. The fresh acid line carries the fruit through to the finish. There’s a glycerol-like feel to the mid-palate i.e. round, soft tannins and creamy nougat yet it’s light & refreshing. Salty/savoury secondary flavours emerge towards the end, as does the oak which adds a char to the finish.
A range of picks across 2 different vineyard sites were made to make this wine/ The 1st from the “Kywarra” vineyard at 870m above sea level was at 12.5 Baume – aiming to create an acid and a red fruit component to the wine.
2 more picks were made from 950m ASL to give riper portions and more body.
This Pinot Noir is made using clones 115, MV6 & 777. It has been fermented by native yeast in 1 tonne open fermenters and minimally handled throughout. A remarkably elegant wine for such a dry/warm vintage.
