2017 Rikard Pinot Noir

Our more feminine style of Pinot Noir, produced to be aromatic and pretty with soft, elegant red-fruit flavours. We aim for this wine to be multilayered and approachable young, with an emphasis on the primary fruit. Underneath, this wine is serious at heart and will evolve with age into a dark, broody Pinot Noir.

Sour red cherries and jasmine notes on the nose. Strawberry and fennel. Rosehip jelly.

On the palate is fruit sweetness. Plush and pretty with a soft mouthfeel. Herbaceous with whole bunch edge amongst ripe tannins. Lovely balance.

“Every ounce of flavour that the fruit offered has been captured; the texture carefully sculpted, never forced. It is a great example of a light-bodied pinot that gives you more and more as you go back to it, yet easy to walk by if you don’t give it the attention it deserves.”  95 points. James Halliday
